Tai Chi Program at Calgary Marlborough Community Centre

As the new year begins, it’s the perfect time to embark on a journey towards inner balance and tranquility. We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new Tai Chi program, organized by the Calgary Marlborough Community Association.

Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese martial art that combines gentle movements, deep breathing, and meditation to promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience, this program is designed to help you unlock the countless benefits of Tai Chi.

The program consists of 10 classes, held every Tuesday from 10:30-11:30 AM at the Calgary Marlborough Community Centre. The first class is absolutely free for you to try! After that, the drop-in fee for each class is $5.00, or you can choose our package of ten classes for $40.
To join our classes, you will need to have a community association membership. If you don’t have one yet, you can easily obtain your membership here

Tai Chi is much more than just a martial art; it’s a holistic practice that cultivates balance, flexibility, and mindfulness. Originating in ancient China, this art form has stood the test of time and continues to captivate people around the world. During our Tai Chi program, you’ll learn a series of slow, flowing movements that seamlessly transition from one to another. These gentle movements, combined with deep breathing techniques, create a harmonious flow that helps release tension, increase energy levels, and enhance overall well-being.

Tai Chi program, organized by the Calgary Marlborough Community Association, offers a myriad of benefits that go beyond physical fitness. As you engage in this graceful practice, you’ll experience a sense of tranquility and inner peace. Here are some of the key benefits you can expect from our Tai Chi program:

  1. Improved Balance and Coordination: Tai Chi movements focus on body awareness, stability, and balance. Regular practice can help strengthen your core muscles, improve coordination, and reduce the risk of falls.
  2. Stress Relief and Mental Clarity: The slow, deliberate movements of Tai Chi promote relaxation and help calm the mind. By focusing on the present moment and synchronizing your breath with each movement, you’ll experience a sense of mental clarity and reduced stress.
  3. Increased Flexibility and Joint Health: Tai Chi movements gently stretch and open the muscles, promoting flexibility and joint mobility. Regular practice can help alleviate joint pain, stiffness, and improve overall range of motion.
  4. Boosted Immune System: Research has shown that regular Tai Chi practice can enhance immune function, leading to a stronger immune system and improved overall health.
  5. Enhanced Mind-Body Connection: Tai Chi is often described as a moving meditation. By integrating body movements with mindful breathing, you’ll cultivate a deep sense of connection between your mind and body, promoting overall well-being.
