Executive

Holly Trotta
President

My name is Holly Trotta.  I have lived in Marlborough for over 37 years.  My husband, Louie, and I raised our sons here and have loved getting to know people in the community through the playschool, elementary school, soccer program and other community functions. I have been Chairperson for the Playschool,  Head bartender in the lounge  for 20 years, plus volunteered at assorted functions put on by the community.  I am excited to take on the role as Second Vice President of our Community  Association.   Participating not only gives me a chance to offer new ideas and energy to our Board, it also keeps me informed of what is happening in our community.

Heather Carling
Treasurer
I have volunteered on the CMCA board for approximately 20 years, 17 of those as a treasurer. I enjoy the opportunity to participate in our CMCA's affairs and am very proud of the CMCA's achievements.
Celia Long
Secretary
I have lived in the Community for 40+ years. I started with the CMCA Board in 1977, holding various positions and have been secretary for about 16 years. This position involves recording all proceedings that take place at our monthly Board Meetings to produce a set of minutes for distribution to all Board members. I have volunteered on various CMCA committees assisting with By-laws, Policies and Procedures , CMCA Objectives and our Business Plan. The Board works as a group so I try and help wherever need. I am a Liaison between the Community and Chris Akkerman and very involved with our Volunteer Appreciation Event One popular event, which is now in it's 13th year, that I was instrumental in starting, is CMCA's Annual Ladies Night Event, held the Thursday prior to Mother's Day. This event which started with 10 vendors has now bee capped so 30. I enjoy being involved in the Community and have learned a lot on what has made and continues to make Calgary Marlborough such a great Community to live in. If you want to learn more about your Community, how is started, how it works, what are we working on now, or have new ideas or events you would like to see happen, consider joining the CMCA Board as volunteers are always needed.

Margaret Berger
Bingo

I have been Involved with the CMCA board for Numerous years (that’s at least 20), Getting volunteers Organized to run 26 bingos a year at the Bingo Barn. The profits from these bingos help to pay for the upkeep of the community centre. Also, over the years, program fees (mainly soccer and hockey) of many children and program fees (mainly yoga) of a few adults have been paid with volunteer credit earned by bingo volunteers. Besides my bingo duties, I also help with 2 of the community’s yearly social events—Ladies Night Out, would you like wine or punch with your cheese and crackers, and the Stampede Breakfast, where I’m the hard-to-notice one in the “small” red styrofoam cowboy hat. Wearing this and a few other hats, over the years, I have had the pleasure of meeting and volunteering with hundreds of terrific people and I hope to meet a few more before I retire and maybe take up playing bingo.

Diana Tokalic

I grew up in Marlborough and have lived here for almost 30 years. I joined the CMCA Board as a Scholarship Director in 2016 after my second child was born hoping that I could make an impact and give back in the community where we live. The volunteer opportunity is great and I work with amazing people. There are also many quality programs and events organized by CMCA that my family and I participate in.
