Who We Are

The Calgary Marlborough Community Association (CMCA) is a registered, not-for-profit society,
incorporated under The Societies Act. We are a volunteer-run organization that represents the interests and meets the needs of the residents within the Marlborough community.

CMCA is proud to be an example of a community association that leads and promotes the recreation, sport and wellness interests of its residents. We are a supportive, dynamic and progressive community with a strong sense of pride and identity that serves and cares for all of its residents/neighbours. CMCA embraces all new residents into the neighbourhood.

Our Mission

The CMCA provides programs and services that enhance the culture of our community. The CMCA is the voice to promote neighbours helping neighbours to achieve a safe and healthy place to live, work and play. We offer a wide variety of programs to our members and residents based on the needs and
requests of our community. Our programs are not restricted to residents and are open to all.


Some interesting historical items

  • The community of Marlborough was established by the City of Calgary in 1967.
  • CMCA was registered as a Society on April 10, 1970.
  • The initial vision of this group of dedicated residents included the hall, swimming pool, skating and curling rink.
  • Initial organizational meetings were held at the gym at Bob Edwards Junior High with approximately 400 in attendance.
  • The fundraising initiatives included memberships, a home lottery, raffles and pie sales. Memberships continue as well as community events.
  • A legacy left in memory of Past President Bob Lee (1983-85) has been dedicated to encourage education opportunities for today’s youth through The Bob Lee Memorial Scholarship Fund.
