Election of New Board Members

At the AGM, we will be holding elections for all board positions. This means that every position is up for election, presenting a chance for passionate community members to step forward and make a difference. If you have a genuine interest in contributing to the growth and well-being of our community, this is your moment to shine!

Eligibility to Vote

To cast your vote and have a say in the decision-making process, you must be a resident of the Calgary Marlborough community. Additionally, a valid CMCA membership is required. If you haven’t obtained your membership yet, now is the perfect time to do so. Visit the CMCA membership registration page to register and ensure your voice is heard.

CMCA Board positions

President

Responsible for the general management and supervision of the Association, calling the meetings of the Board and presiding as Chairman at any meeting of the Association, Board or Finance Committee and acts as a member of all committees. Requirement of two year tenure on the Board before eligible to be elected President.

First Vice President

Assist the President in the general management and supervision of the Association and will preside at all meetings of the Association, the Board or the Finance Committee in the absence or at the request of the President.

Second Vice President

An optional elected position. Assist the President in the general management and supervision of the Association and will preside at all meetings of the Association, the Board or the Finance Committee in the absence or at the request of the President.

Secretary

Attend all meetings of the Association and the Executive Committee and record all facts and minutes of all proceedings. Provide all notices required to be given to the members, the Board and any Committees. Custodian of the Seal of the Association, By-Laws, The Societies Act and all records belonging to the Association. 

Treasurer

Keep full and accurate accounts of all receipts and disbursement of the Association in proper books of account and report to the Board the financial position of the Association. Provide a full report with audited statements to the general members at the Association’s Annual General Meeting.

Bingo

Complete bingo license applications and reports for bingos.  Organize volunteers for bingo shifts and ensure volunteers adhere to the rules as defined by the Gaming Commission.  Typically also volunteers at bingo events.

Casino

Complete applications and reports for casinos.  Organize volunteers for casino shifts and ensure volunteers adhere to the rules as defined by the Gaming Commission. Typically also volunteers at the casino event.

Children’s events

Organizes events geared towards children and youth.

Lounge Director

Plan and carryout activities to draw members to the lounge.  Order and maintain liquor, pop and snack inventory. Ensure licensing is up to date.

Marlborough Community Outreach

Seeks out opportunities to partner with other organizations to increase the social wellbeing of the community.

Membership Director

Organize annual membership drives for all areas of the community.  Process mail in membership application and mail or deliver new cards. Maintain up to date membership list in database.  Organize a table to sell memberships at community events.

Newsletter Director

Establish an online newsletter for Calgary Marlborough Community Association.  Submit newsletter information to 12 CSI magazine for print publication.

Safety, Fitness and Community Pride

Seeks out opportunities to promote safety, health and wellness and community pride in Marlborough. 

Scholarship

Canvas high schools and community to promote scholarship to eligible students who live in Marlborough. Reviews applications for eligibility and performs background checks. Recommends list of applicants for Executive Committee review and selection.

Seniors

Seeks out opportunities to increase the social welfare and health and wellness of seniors in the community.

Social Media

The Social Media Director at CMCA is responsible for developing and implementing effective social media strategies to promote the Calgary Marlborough Community Association (CMCA). They will oversee all social media platforms, engage with the community, and create engaging content to enhance CMCA’s online presence.

Volunteer Coordinator

Create and maintain a database of volunteers for various community events.  Contact and secure attendance of volunteers as needed.

Website

The Website Director at CMCA is responsible for overseeing the development, maintenance, and optimization of the Calgary Marlborough Community Association (CMCA) website. They will ensure the website is user-friendly, visually appealing, and aligns with CMCA’s brand and objectives. The Website Director will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather content, implement updates, and continuously improve the website’s functionality and performance.
