Austin Deck is the new Community Liaison for Councillor Andre Chabot and Ward 10.
Born and raised in Marlborough, Austin attended CMCA for Pre school before visiting again throughout his childhood for jelly bean dances and craft sales. He is proud to have gone to school at Marlborough Elementary and Bob Edwards. In 2017 was the recipient of the Calgary Marlborough Community Associations ‘Bob Lee’ Scholarship.
After graduating high school from Father Lacombe Senior High, Austin took up volunteer trips to Vietnam and Bali where he worked with children in many different capacities including: Teaching English, Health Education, Special Needs Care, Wildlife and Animal Care and Community Rehabilitation.
In 2022, Austin completed his Practical Nurse Diploma from Bow Valley College after serving as a Palliative care volunteer in Calgary since 2016. He is now continuing his studies through University of Lethbridge’s Calgary Campus in a Bachelor of Health Sciences with a major in Public Health where he hopes to continue to help community development.
